Anotace


Summary


The aim of the course is to introduce  students  to the importance of strategic management for a company and  to the methods for strategy formulation, implementation and evaluation. In exercises, students apply theoretical knowledge to a real company.



Knowledge


Students are able to explain the difference between mission and vision statements and to perform an external and internal audit. Students are further able to describe types of strategies and are able to explain and to describe the process of strategy formulation, implementation and evaluation.



Skills


Students are able to develop mission and vision of a company, to perform an external and internal audit and are able to use techniques and methods of strategic management (matrices EFE, IFE, SPACE, BCG…). Students are also able to formulate a feasible firm strategy.



General competencies


Students are able to work with information sources and to create a literature review. Students are also able to evaluate information critically and are capable of teamwork. Students are also able to interpret and present achieved results clearly.
