The goal of the course in the introduction into the topic of project management. Lectures provide the initial insight into the topic of project management and familiarize students with project management methodology. Seminars are oriented at an application and at the development of practical skills necessary for project management with an emphasis on project planning.
Knowledge: The student can describe the project cycle and fundamental processes of project management including their continuity. The student can explain the basic principle of the network graph, they understand the difference between edge-oriented and point-oriented graphs and their use for calculations, they can describe the Gantt chart and its properties, they can define the procedure of project length calculation, and they understand the difference among methods for project length calculation.
Skills: The student can define even a more complex project and structure it into partial activities, they can plan a schedule, budget and project staffing, and they can calculate the project length and plot it into the network graph or Gantt chart.
Competencies: The student can coordinate activities within a relatively small team and present their work results in public.
